Your lawn's height can make a huge difference in it's overall health and well-being. Cut it too short and your inviting trouble. Taller grass keeps weeds away by blocking weed propagating seeds from getting to your soil.
Good grass height also promotes deeper and stronger roots. The blade is proportional to the root. And it also helps to keep the sun from drying and damaging and compacting soil. Moist soil helps roots to breathe and clippings to decompose which produces nitrogen. About half of what your lawn needs in nutrition come from clippings. So, quit bagging it, start mulching it and you'll have a healthier lawn. Height is the key.
